That is a question of taste rather than poor execution. If a smoky variation appeals, this one is worth ordering again.

Behind the small bar, the bartenders work quickly and juggle multiple orders without losing precision. Technique holds up under the pace, with proper shaking rather than a rushed shortcut. Their efficiency helps the room feel capable and assured.

Make a habit of it

The strongest plan is a later dinner reservation with cocktails woven into the evening. For a quieter, more romantic setting, request the enclosed garden; for more energy and proximity to the fireplace, ask about the area near the bar. Treat either as a preference, since specific sections are not guaranteed.

Dinner is not essential to the recommendation. The cocktails, service and room are enough to justify a stop for drinks alone, provided you accept the limited space. Come for a date, reconnect with an old friend or settle into a familiar corner of the neighborhood. The Waverly Inn has the charm to become a habit.
